Stickybear Vocabulary Development - Bilingual from Optimum Resource
A featured program in the middle school series of software from Optimum Resource, Inc., Vocabulary Development is designed to help students increase vocabulary as they strengthen reading skills.
Students relate their current knowledge of vocabulary to the context in which they discover an unfamiliar word. They utilize a variety of contextual aids.
This program illustrates synonyms, antonyms, prefixes, suffixes, homophones, multiple meanings and context clues, allowing students to apply experience and context to generate meanings for unfamiliar words and to more accurately define known words.
Vocabulary Development includes six progressive levels of difficulty, with more than 400 words and 44 multilevel lessons selected by the education experts at Optimum Resource.
The program may be customized by adding an unlimited number of new exercises and offers many useful teacher options. It is designed for use in grades 3 through 9 and has varied levels.
Students can use Vocabulary Development in self-paced or test form. The material is multiple choice and teachers may customize the program to each individual user at any time.
Progress reports are available and all help screens, examples and questions may be printed out as practice, test, and take-home sheets. Teachers may adjust the starting level and number of tries for each student.
Students may view the curriculum-based material at anytime.
Teachers can customize the program to tie in with their current in-class word lists.

Minimum System Requirements:
Will run on Windows 2000, XP, and Vista as well as Mac PowerPC or Intel machines with OS X 10.4 or higher. They install directly on the hard drive and after installation, the CD is no longer needed to run the program.
