Features and Benefits
BitDefender Antivirus Engines
The BitDefender Antivirus Engines certified by ICSA Labs, CheckMark, CheckVir, Virus Bulletin and TUV detect and disinfect your system by scanning archives, mails and common files. The on-demand scanner, for command line or shell scripts, through the BitDefender Antivirus Engines keeps your system free of viruses and other malware.
B-HAVE stands for Behavioral Heuristic Analyzer in Virtual Environments; practically, it emulates a virtual computer-inside-a-computer where pieces of software are run in order to check potential malware behavior. This BitDefender proprietary technology represents a new security layer that keeps the operating system safe from unknown viruses by detecting potentially malignant pieces of code for which signatures have not been released yet. It thus supplements usual signature and behavior-based techniques, increasing the overall effectiveness of your antivirus solution. B-HAVE is a component of the BitDefender Engines.
BitDefender Antivirus Scanner for Unices is a powerful on-demand scanner which can be used for immediate or scheduled scan tasks. It can also be integrated through scripts and extensions with file managers like Midnight Commander and KDE Konqueror, mail clients like Pine and Evolution and services like Mail Servers, web portals and so on.
Although BitDefender Antivirus Scanner for Unices can be integrated with other software like the Qmail Scanner for e-mail traffic antivirus scanning, we recommend BitDefender Mail Protection for Small Business (for Linux based servers) and BitDefender for FreeBSD Mail Servers for improved usability.
