New Technology in Vision
Simple Installation
The Vision6 installer is MSI-compliant, therefore giving you the ability to use remote deployment and imaging solutions to perform mass installations of Vision. Vision can be included as part of an image or rolled out to computers as part of an installation package.
Maximum Functions with Minimal Learning Curve
Vision gives teachers powerful classroom management tools without a complicated interface to learn, making your job easier when your teachers start using Vision:
- Vision has a multi-button floating toolbar for ease of use.
- Teachers can supervise computers from their screen, share screens, demonstrate their screen to the class, blank student screens and lock the keyboard and remote control computers – with minimal impact on the IT staff.
- Vision offers many different views of the classroom – thumbnails of many students, a larger screen view of a group of students, or a full-screen view of a single student’s desktop in real time.
- Teachers can customize and save the thumbnail view to match the seating layout of the classroom and see their classroom as if they are standing in front.
- Vision helps keep your computers cleaner and more functional because there is less opportunity for damage to the computers if they are being supervised.
- The status of student computers is shown on the Vision dashboard for easy management. View status of surfing permissions, applications running, and application restrictions.
- The optional Vision Teach-Pad lets teachers access screen sharing, locking student machines, demonstrating and surf restriction in their Vision classroom with a one-touch keypad that plugs into the USB port on the teacher’s machine with no additional set up for your team.
Flexible Connectivity - No Port Dependencies
- The connectivity model used in Vision makes it the most flexible and easiest to use when dealing with the different types of computers in classrooms and labs. The connection between the teacher computer and student computers is completely customizable and can be changed instantly. No ports need to be selected, no classroom passwords, keys or lesson names need to be remembered and the teacher always has control over who is connected to his or her computer.
Support for Mobile Carts and Laptops
- In Vision, the teacher simply selects from a list of available classrooms and the student computers assigned to that classroom will be connected to the teacher's computer. This accommodates schools with any combination of laptop carts, fixed labs or mixed labs. Other highlights include:
- Wireless support has been further enhanced with Vision version 6.5.
- The ability to switch from one classroom to another with two clicks of the mouse.
- Creating new classrooms with a simple drag-and-drop feature using the manage classrooms function.
- Administrative ability to create global classrooms for use by multiple teachers.
- Simple interface to manage Vision classrooms.
- Open enrollment. Allows attendees the option of connecting to a class announced over the network. Perfect for colleges and professional development.
Additional Features and Benefits
Extended Classrooms
Vision supports communication across subnets and WANs. A instructor can connect to a single computer lab or to students in multiple classrooms across the school, the district, or the campus.
Power On/Power Off/Restart
Vision is compatible with the Wake on LAN (WoL) industry standard technology to start up computers remotely. With Vision, an entire classroom can be powered on at the beginning of class, restarted as needed and then powered off at the end of the day.
Dashboard Security
Access to the Vision dashboard can be protected by means of user passwords. Setting a password ensures that only the appropriate persons can access the dashboard.
Student Privacy
To adhere to a variety of privacy policies, the Vision client can be configured on the student computers to allow remote control by the teacher only if approved by the student.
Performance
Vision has the most advanced screen capture and transmission technology available for screen sharing and remote control offering real-time, seamless transfer of screen activity, graphics and color depth. Keeping demonstrations and remote control sessions free of lagging or jerky screen refresh rates.
