Stickybear Phonics: Volume 1 combines video, sound and animation to engage young students as they learn to link letters and sounds and begin the adventure of reading!
Based on the most recent and respected research in reading, Stickybear Phonics is designed to build knowledge by teaching the young child to sound out words.
Professional actors accurately demonstrate the material, allowing children to see how the human mouth shapes sound and hear the corect pronunciation of each word.
The student is encouraged to reproduce each sound and word immediately after they are demonstrated on screen, thereby developing speaking as well as listening skills.
Stickybear Phonics: Volume 1 begins with a review of materials from Stickybear ABC Deluxe, then covers consonant sounds, followed by short and long vowel sounds.
As individual sounds are learned, phrases and short stories are presented. Sight words, reviews, stories and workbook activities challenge young readers. Over 150 words are covered in Stickybear Phonics: Volume 1.
The self-paced lessons are reinforced through delightful, animated short stories, on-screen interactive activities, and slight words. Review and practice are stressed in the video segments.
Workbook sheets may be printed at any time for use off-screen.
Children can see and hear how the mouth shapes sounds.
Minimum System Requirements: Windows Direct Drive
Program is provided on a Windows CD and installs directly to the hard drive. Will work on Windows 2K, XP, and Vista, After installation, CD is no longer required.
Windows: Pentium II or higher, 256 MB RAM, Windows compatible sound card recommended. 8x CD-ROM drive or greater. Hard drive space required varies from 55MB to 200MB, Stickybear titles being the largest.
