Teachers and students of any age can script, create, edit, publish and promote podcasts all from the same simple interface in minutes
Podium is a PC-based application, designed specifically for the education market. It is an easy-to-use piece of software that allows students of any age to create, edit and publish podcasts all from the same simple interface.
Your students turn to podcasts every day to share ideas with one another, keep current on their favorite TV shows, or hear the hot new band talk about their latest album. Podcasts are an integral part of learning and communication outside the classroom for today’s students. Why not put this powerful technology to work in the classroom?
Podium is designed specifically to integrate podcasting into the classroom and curriculum.
It’s easy to use and the possibilities of podcasting are endless.
• Record excerpts from Shakespeare or other dramas to bring plays to life for students.
• Have students work together to write and record a news segment for a past event to make a history lesson more relevant.
• Create podcasts of students interviewing a relative about his or her life experiences.
• Post podcasts on the school web site about activities and events.
• Teachers can provide additional information on homework assignments that students can access via the school web site.
• And hundreds of more interactive, creative audio projects!
Podium opens up a world of creativity to students and teachers alike. In trials, Podium has had real success in helping students who struggle to express themselves through writing tap into their creativity. Collaboration and teamwork are also encouraged and fostered when students work together to develop scripts and record podcasts.

Podcasts require hosting on a server for people to access and download them. Many schools and districts have ample hosting capabilities and server space. However, if it’s an issue for your school or district, we do offer hosting services. With our hosting services anyone with Internet access can subscribe and listen to the podcasts you post.
