The Science Court series introduces core science concepts and models good scientific practice with this fun and engaging series that mixes animated courtroom drama, hands-on science activities, and humor. As each case unfolds, students examine the facts and perform hands-on experiments to help them predict the verdict. By discussing their findings in groups and as a class, students are able to articulate and comprehend challenging science topics.
In Science Court: Gravity, Ms. Clara Swindell claims to have a secret weight-loss potion that blocks gravity to help you lose weight. She accuses Sam Bookman of sabotaging her antigravity formula. But is it scientifically reasonable to believe that such a potion existed in the first place? Can the laws of gravity be broken?
Over the course of the trial, students will learn:

- Explore the relationship between mass, gravity, and weight

In addition, students will be able to:
- Explain why some objects have more gravity than others
- Explain why an object's weight on Earth is more than its weight on the moon
- Explain why even though an object's weight changes with gravity, its mass remains the same
