Say It, Rhyme It, Spell It
progresses in difficulty from the first Say It, Rhyme It, Spell It by using c-v-c-c and c-c-v-c short vowel word patterns. By rhyming these words, students learn the connection between letter sounds and word patterns. This game can be used to reinforce skills from other reading programs or for stand-alone practice. Realistic illustrations allow students to expand their oral language skills as well as improve their phonemic awareness and phonics skills.
BOARD GAME
Game format and game play is identical to the first game and uses the same icons: sun, moon and star. Students can practice with beginning and ending blends using words such as wrap , kick , bend , or jump . Includes 50 words with 35 c-v-c-c and c-c-v-c patterns.
DRAW CARDS
Each of the 50 words is represented on three different types of draw cards, each with illustrations of the word. The "Say It" card features the largest illustration. On the "Rhyme It" card, the ending letters of each word are shown with one or two blanks before them, indicating that the player must supply a new beginning to form a rhyming word. The matching "Spell It" card has empty boxes shaped and sized for the letters needed to spell the word.
