The Spelling Test Generator, Volume 1 prepares spelling lists on the basis of difficulty, grade level, vowels, diphthongs, word origins, and starting/ending letters or sounds.
The generator uses more than 3,000 of the most commonly encountered words in the English language
It is curriculum and text independent. It can be used as a supplemental guide for building vocabulary and spelling development.
The teacher manipulates a master list of words to create lists by age, grade or topic specifications. Tutorial sheets can be generated to reinforce a spelling rule or to give students sight and writing practice.
Teachers can add or subtract words to the list at the click of a button or insert/delete their own words. In addition to the main word root, teachers can focus the list on apostrophes, contractions, homonyms, synonyms and antonyms.
