3d Choreographer from Animated Communications

Animated Communications is proud to introduce 3d Choreographer v3.0, a Windows-based software program that allows children and adults to create complex animations with the click of a button. Site licenses and curricula are available for upper elementary, middle and high schools.

3d Choreographer - Animation software for middle school and up. Choreographer contains all the characters in 3dChor Kids as well as 100s of additional ones. Attach your photos to the heads of over 70 characters. Create your own actions and add them to the library. Copy the commands to other characters. Customize the size, shape and skin of the characters.

What sets 3d Choreographer apart is its "Action-Driven" approach. Every actor has an extensive library of English-language commands including a wide range of emotional expressions. For example, a person can dance, wave and smile--personality at the click of a mouse.

BENEFITS

  • Animations enhance retention and keep up interest
  • The best use of animation is to use it sparingly: The students look forward to the next one
  • Use animations as introduction to subjects. Use them as metaphors or comedic examples.
  • Animations can reduce the level of formality in a classroom, enhancing dialogs and student participation.
  • Using photo heads on a 3d character is a way of introducing staff without being stuffy about it.
  • Use images like backgrounds that are familiar to your students. They will relate to it and it will increase acceptance of speaker and subject.

DESIGN

Design is a simple four-step process
  • Click on CAST to choose from a library of 300 characters. Actors are defined in all three dimensions.
  • Click on COMMAND and watch the actor take a bow, do a somersault or raise his right eyebrow. Create a script by selecting the commands for the actor to perform. Hundreds of actions bring the actor to life. Add what you need to tell the story.
  • Click on PATH and draw a path for the actor to follow.
  • Click on ANIMATE to create the movie. The final designs are rendered as AVI files.

Replace the head of a character with one of your own design. Attach either photos or drawings to the bodies of 3D actors. Battling politicians shaking the Capitol make great political animation cartoons.

Add text, backgrounds and 2D drawings to complete the animations. Use the animations in PowerPoint, place them on web pages, or add them to videos.

What sets 3d Choreographer apart is its "Action-Driven" approach. Every actor has an extensive library of predefined actions including a wide range of emotional expressions. For example, a person can dance, wave and smile -- personality at the click of a mouse.

Create unique actions by manipulating arms, legs, heads and torsos to set the actor's pose. Modify the actors' sizes and shapes. These new actors and actions can be saved for use in other animations.

Import .bmp pictures from clip art or drawings. These pictures can be moved along a path, twist and turn, grow or shrink or be used as props or backgrounds for the 3D actors. Any solid color background will appear transparent.

Text, backgrounds and 2D drawings can be added to complete the animations. The final designs can be rendered as with 16 million colors using 24 bit AVI files or FLCs (256 colors).
