Perch Dissection Works from ScienceWorks
No more problems with the dangers and smells of preservatives, ethical concerns associated with sacrificing animals to study life or the costs of buying hundreds of preserved animals each year - Dissection Works solves each of these problems. Through the use of detailed, digitized images of actual dissections, QuickTime© movies, schematics, tests, labelings, glossary with pronunciations and much, much more, students are able to dissect animals right on the computer screen. If an error is made, simply redo the dissection from any part of the program.
Excellent for use as a pre-lab where wet lab dissections are still desirable, this CD-ROM program allows students to examine structures and techniques before they actually cut. Perfect as a post-lab activity - Dissection Works can be used as an evaluation tool as well - printable files of tests, worksheets and puzzles are included on the CD. Also, the glossary, text and graphics are printable as well- make your own tests if you wish.
Endorsed as an excellent teaching tool by experts on both sides of the animal rights controversy. Recommended for grades 7 and up.
