New Features WhatsUp Gold Distributed Edition takes the proven feature set of WhatsUp Gold Premium Edition and extends the usage to Distributed, multi-network environments where there is more than one physical location, often geographically dispersed and many discreet networks. A customer installs a single Central Installation of Distributed at the location deemed “central” or “NOC” along with the included but optional WhatsUp Screen Manager (Dashboard) and then installs a copy of WhatsUp Gold Remote Installation in each remote office they wish to monitor. Once connected, the remote sites will communicate device state status back to central for a lightweight but efficient monitoring solution See It All in One Centralized Location Historically, organizations with multiple sites and networks across geographies have been limited to the difficult choice of either installing disconnected solutions at each physical location, or taking an enormous financial hit by procuring a large and expensive enterprise solution. Ipswitch offers a third, better choice. Built upon the award-winning WhatsUp Gold engine, Ipswitch’s new WhatsUp Gold Distributed Edition provides organizations of all sizes with a flexible solution that enables them to reliably manage complex, disparate client network environments. There is no limit to how many remote networks can be connected, and despite its comprehensive functionality, WhatsUp Gold Distributed Edition is easy to implement and useit actually frees up the network administrator to devote more time to other strategic priorities. Key features: Real-time, centralized network management across multiple locations The Distributed Edition discovers all IP-addressed network and Windows devices, continuously reporting back all changes of state anywhere they occur. Single view of all networks The solution graphs and maps all devices for each network on an integrated, icon-based dashboard that makes it easy to view multiple networks at once. Comprehensive reportingGather and analyze data from individual or cumulative locations for IT and business audiences. Automatic notificationsNetwork administrators are alerted to important changes of a device state through any of a number of vehicles, including email, SMS, text, audible, and visual alerts. Quarterly availability reportProvides administrators with the means for establishing and displaying an internal service level agreement (SLA) SNMP v1-3/WMI monitorsEasy to set up active, passive, and performance SNMP and WMI monitors without the need for third-party plug-ins. Device dependencyIf device availability is constrained because of a problem with a router or switch, eliminating dependent alerts enables the administrator to more easily diagnose the problem.
