Animation-ish is the animation program with a mission. Animation-ish is designed to encourage the artist in everyone, from amateur to professional, from kids to grown up kids. The program’s simple-to-use tools, engaging design, and multiple levels of complexity offers a fun, rewarding experience that gives you the courage to create with confidence!
Animation-ish is hosted by “creativity advocate” Peter H. Reynolds, and the “ish-ful” philosophy espoused in his books “The Dot” and “Ish” infuses every facet of the program. Video clips of Peter’s inspirational tips and a library of his whimsical drawings are just a click away whenever you need a creative nudge. Then, you can easily export your animations to a variety of formats to share with the world!
FableVision and ToonBoom: Partnering to Help Move the World
Animation-ish is the result of a unique partnership between Boston-based FableVision, the award winning children’s media company, and Montreal-based ToonBoom Animation, creators of the professional animation tools used in major Hollywood Studio animated films including The Simpsons Movie and the Triplets of Belleville. The combination of ToonBoom’s state-of-the art engineering and FableVision’s educational philosophy and irresistible design is what makes Animation-ish truly unlike any other animation program available. Animation-ish will inspire kids, parents, and teachers to make their mark and help move the world to a better place, one dot at a time.
Level 1
Wiggledoodle-ish allows you to draw, trace and animate with three frames. You can import and trace any graphic in this level using simple tool sets
Level 2
Flipbook-ish allows you to create animation using an infinite number of frames and higher-leve tool sets.
Level 3
Advanced-ish introduces the mover tool, which allows for more complex animations using foregrounds and backgrounds
