Reading Realities Elementary Series contains 45 real-life stories from real-life kids in Grades 1-6. This series is a well-researched reading comprehension program that uses a Directed Reading-Thinking Approach (DRTA). Focusing on topics that children face in their everyday lives, students are encouraged to share their feelings and thoughts in a non-threatening, confidential atmosphere. They are challenged to think about their actions while developing reading, writing and problem-solving skills. This award-winning, "about kids and for kids" program was made "real" with the help of over 1000 students who contributed their stories.
Series Key Features include:
- Encourages students to participate with on-line prompting of vocabulary, questions, and writing activities
- Assists students with word meaning by providing vocabulary support (parts of speech, definitions, synonyms/antonyms, and sentence examples)

Series Features
- Assists students in decoding unfamiliar words by reading stories or words aloud.
