Heartsoft Reading Comprehension

Grades 2-6 A straightforward drill and practice program that utilizes a variety exercises to helps develop the student's reading comprehension. Sentences/paragraphs are presented with questions in the following areas: Plurals, Look alike words, multiple-definition words, choosing the right word, choosing the right meaning, identifying the main idea, root words, related words, and more. Right answers are affirmed audiovisually and the student moves to the next question. Incorrect answers are noted as such audiovisually, and the student is given a second chance. At the end of the 10-question lesson, the student's score and percentage is shown on the screen. If the score is 70% or above, the student may go on to the next lesson. If the score is below 70%, the computer suggests that the student repeat the lesson. The program comes with 16 lessons already loaded, with the capacity for a total of 26, each with 10 sentences or paragraphs. Existing lessons may be edited or deleted, and new lessons may be added. Lessons may also be printed with or without answers. An excellent tool to enhance reading comprehension with very specific concepts.
