|Introduce your students to the enchanted and fragile environment of three of the world's major rainforests with A Field Trip to the Rainforest Deluxe. Field Trip to the Rainforest Deluxe features beautiful illustrations, vivid photographs, and comprehensive, age-appropriate research on core curriculum subjects.
As students take an interactive journey through the tropical rainforests of South America, Africa, and Southeast Asia, they will discover the variety of animals, insects, and plants that coexist and thrive in these ecosystems.
Your students can click on plants and animals in the Discovery Screen to take a closer look. They'll uncover the habits and characteristics of exotic animals such as gibbons, tapirs, Congo peafowls, and poison arrow frogs, as well as the abundance of flourishing vegetation that includes bromeliads and strangler figs.
The interactive on-screen Field Guide has sections on plants and animals, and provides a wealth of research on the climate, people, products, and future of the rainforest. Hypertext links make it easy for students to get definitions from the glossary.
Students can use the Data Table to check their observations and access information on 50 plants and over 100 animals that inhabit the three rainforests. Because students can classify, sort, and organize facts in the Data Table, it's also the perfect introduction to using a database.
A Field Trip to the Rainforest Deluxe also includes a Journal, a complete word processor where students can automatically transfer notes, text, and pictures to create reports. There's even a fun-fact activity designed to reinforce learning.
