Science Simulations 2 was developed in association with the BBC Science Clips TV series. Simulations provide early elementary students with the opportunity to select variables, control time and to view the results of their experiments as animations and/or dynamically generated tables, graphs and diagrams.
BBC Science Simulations 2 provides exciting opportunities for early elementary students to interact with seven virtual science investigations. Within minutes, students can observe how shadows change over the course of a day, investigate which of four materials is the best thermal insulator, and much more.
Students can develop their understanding of fair testing by controlling variables on screen and can see instant results by selecting to view a table or graph alongside the animation. A "Questions" section with full narration provides ideas for investigations that students can complete independently. Several of the simulations also have a multi-simulation feature that allows students to make direct comparisons by running two versions of a simulation concurrently. The clear graphics and simple controls also make the software perfect for use on an interactive whiteboard. Brought to you by Riverdeep, The Learning Company.
