Interactive Math Dictionary from MathResource
The MathResource: Interactive Math Dictionary is a very powerful and accessible tool for those participating in the fields of math, science or engineering. It is equally applicable to students taking a course, teachers preparing a lecture or researchers preparing or refereeing journal articles.
The MathResource is not just a few definitions with trivial computational ability. There are over 5,000 entries. Calculations and plotting are provided by the "Power of Maple". You will actually be able to interact with the mathematics: do calculations, plots, alter parameters and recalculate.
The MathResource: Interactive Math Dictionary is the interactive version of The Collins Dictionary of Mathematics by Ephraim Borowski & Jonathan Borwein. The work is substantially augmented by the research of Dr. Carolyn Watters. Professors Borowski and Borwein maintained the electronic rights to their database and Professor Watters' research provided an active link to the symbolic algebra system called Maple, thus allowing for the development of this very unique software tool.
A Comprehensive Mathematical Resource
The MathResource is a very powerful and accessible tool for those participating in the fields of math, science or engineering. It is equally applicable to students taking a course, teachers preparing a lecture or researchers preparing or refereeing journal articles.
The MathResource CD ROM can be your complete math companion. It provides the opportunity to investigate and visualize a large cross section of the mathematics in its database. By combining the database entries with proprietary software and a Maple kernel the end user is provided a substantial number of opportunties to investigate and examine complex math topics.
- Input your own data and do "What if?" analysis.
- Generate numerical and graphical solutions using Maple.
- Generate 2D or 3D graphs using Maple.
- Use The MathResource to help with your assignments.
The Power of Maple
The Maple symbolic algebra system required for computation and plotting is provided on The MathResource CD ROM. * Access the information of The MathResource from a variety of sources:
- Word Search
- Alpha Search
- Topic Search - Precalculus, Calculus, Linear Algebra, etc. Just click the appropriate button and The MathResource will open a corresponding table of contents.
- Teachers can use The MathResource as a display tool in the classroom.
- You can be your own full time tutor
Much More than a Dictionary
The MathResource: Interactive Math Dictionary is not just a few definitions with trivial computational ability. There are over 5,000 entries.
Calculations and plotting are provided by the "Power of Maple" (symbolic algebra system). You will actually be able to interact with the mathematics: do calculations, plots, alter parameters and recalculate.
Most importantly you don't have to write a single line of Maple code. Every operation is "point and click".
