Thinkology - Logic Volume 3 (2 CD) from Kidsmart
Logic is Volume 3 of the award-winning Critical Thinking Skills program, which includes the animated instructional software program, and a comprehensive Curriculum Integration Guide which contains 39 Supplemental Activities plus coloring sheets.
Logic's software program contains two stories, each with 10 exercises, all focused on Logic in thinking and speaking. A cast of colorful characters works through a story which illustrates the concept of Logic, and then the student participates in one of the 10 interactive exercises which pose situations in which the student must select who is being logical and who is not.
From the Teacher's Manual: "The word ‘logic' covers a range of related concerns all bearing upon the attempt on someone's part to give meaning to something or figure it out. All human thought is to some extent based on logic rather than instinct. Humans try to figure things out using ideas, meanings, and thought...Where something is ‘logical' it is ‘reasonable,' or follows from sound judgment. When a person is logical, he or she is effectively presenting or reasoning something through... Do I think through problems to make sure that I come to logical conclusions? Do my answers make sense, or are they somehow illogical?"
Thinkology - Logic Volume 3 is designed to be a springboard to logic in every curricular area. Its objective, from the teacher's perspective, is to help integrate critical thinking skills into the established classroom routine. That's why the Curriculum Integration Guide (a large part of the Teacher's Manual) was developed in such detail… to help with that task. Logic, and its two siblings (Accuracy and Clarity), are the perfect companions to the rest of your curriculum to help your students learn and apply Critical Thinking Skills to all of their learning experience in your classroom.
Plus, a 125-page Teacher's Guide with curriculum integration suggestions and dozens of off-line activities.
