From A to Z
Practice letter recognition and letter sounds. The menu screen lets you choose the letter you wish to practice. There are a set of activities for each letter. Press the letter to see a word, a picture and hear the spoken word. Find all the occurrences of the letter in a range of words. Memory games for words beginning with .... word building activities .... plus much more. The activities in A to Z help develop and practice those visual, auditory and memory skills needed for letter and word recognition.
A to Z is a collection of activities to practice visual perception, memory and phonics skills. Choose which letter you want to work on and then move through a number of different activities around that letter.

Activities
A number of different letters appear on the screen. The aim is to click on every example of the current letter (as chosen at the beginning).
Press the current letter on the keyboard. An image is displayed of a word beginning with the letter. The word is spoken and the text is displayed. Pressing the letter will cycle through a number of words beginning with that letter.
Pick up and drag pieces to complete a simple jigsaw for the current letter.
A house is displayed with four windows. A letter is displayed in each window, including the current letter. After a predetermined time the shutters close and the pupil has to click on the shutters covering the current letter.
Click on every example of the current letter to find your way through the maze.
A simple pelmanism game. Click to find pairs of pictures to reveal a word beginning with the current letter. On completion, an image will appear to match the word, and the word will be spoken.
Four pictures will be displayed on-screen. Click on the images of things that begin with the current letter. One image does not begin with the current letter. You can click on the loudspeaker icons to hear each spoken word.
Words and images are displayed. The aim is to find every example of the current letter, whether it is at the beginning, middle or end of the words.
Pick up the letters and complete the words. Place the correct image beside each word.
Find the word that matches the picture.
This section will print activity sheets for work away from the computer. You can select either upper or lower case letters for each of three different sheets.
