Stickybear Phonics: Volume II combines video, sound and animation, to teach begiining readers to sound out words with consonant and vowel blends.
Based on the most recent and respected research in reading, Stickybear Phonics, Volume II encourages children to reproduce sounds as they are heard, reinforcing speaking and listening skills.
Through integrated video, professional actors accurately demonstrate the material, allowing children to see how the mouth shapes sound and hear the correct pronunciation of each word.
The reading student is encouraged to reproduce each sound, word, and phrase immediately after they are demonstrated on screen.
Stickybear Phonics: Volume II introduces consonant & vowel blends, and mixed consonant/vowel blends. Each blend of letters is clearly spoken, with letters, blends, syllables, and words appearing on screen as they are spoken.
Topics are followed by exercises that children can quickly complete on screen. Review activities are included as students gain confidence in their ability to read new material.
The self-paced lessons are reinforced through delightful, animated short stories, on-screen interactive activities, and slight words. Student progress is tracked automatically and teachers can print out progress reports.
Workbook sheets may be printed at any time for use off-screen.
Minimum System Requirements: Windows Direct Drive
Program is provided on a Windows CD and installs directly to the hard drive. Will work on Windows 2K, XP, and Vista, After installation, CD is no longer required.
Windows: Pentium II or higher, 256 MB RAM, Windows compatible sound card recommended. 8x CD-ROM drive or greater. Hard drive space required varies from 55MB to 200MB, Stickybear titles being the largest.
