Set of all three BBC Science Simulations CDs!
In the true spirit of scientific inquiry BBC Science Simulations 1 software provides a unique opportunity for beginning students to conduct a series of ‘virtual’ scientific experiments covering several key areas of the science curriculum.
BBC Science Simulations 1 provides a unique opportunity for children to explore seven "virtual" science investigations. The simulations include making plants grow, exercise, building electrical circuits and more. This program is perfect for whole class instruction using a whiteboard and provides an excellent opportunity for students to predict, carry out, and evaluate investigations with the additional benefit of being able to simply reset them and start again. The "questions" portion of the program provides great ideas for simulations. Tables and graphs are generated from each experiment and give students valuable practice in interpreting simple data. So come experience endless experiments, with no mess! Brought to you by Riverdeep, The Learning Company.
Contents:
· Using electricity
· Changing materials
· Growing plants
· Force and movement
· Exercise and health
· Food chains
· Light and dark
Science Simulations 2 was developed in association with the BBC Science Clips TV series. Simulations provide early elementary students with the opportunity to select variables, control time and to view the results of their experiments as animations and/or dynamically generated tables, graphs and diagrams.
BBC Science Simulations 2 provides exciting opportunities for early elementary students to interact with seven virtual science investigations. Within minutes, students can observe how shadows change over the course of a day, investigate which of four materials is the best thermal insulator, and much more.
Students can develop their understanding of fair testing by controlling variables on screen and can see instant results by selecting to view a table or graph alongside the animation. A "Questions" section with full narration provides ideas for investigations that students can complete independently. Several of the simulations also have a multi-simulation feature that allows students to make direct comparisons by running two versions of a simulation concurrently. The clear graphics and simple controls also make the software perfect for use on an interactive whiteboard.

BBC Science Simulations 3 was developed in association with the BBC Science Clips TV series. These simulations provide elemenary students with the opportunity to select variables, control time and to view the results of their experiments as animations and/or dynamically generated tables, graphs and diagrams.
BBC Science Simulations 3 was designed to enhance science investigation skills for upper elementary students. Virtual experiments exploring varying topics such as plant growth and and electical circuits allow teachers and students to experience a wide range of phenomena in ways and at speeds that would be difficult to achieve in the classroom.
The "Questions" portion of the software includes ideas for exploration. Students can manipulate a variety of variables and instantly observe their effects. Students can access graphs and tables to clarify the results which provides a focus for interpretation and scientific explanation. Students can make direct comparisons by viewing two investigations simultaneously using the multi-simulation feature.
