Safety Works: Critical Emergency Knowledgebase from ScienceWorks
Safety Works: Critical Emergency Knowledgebase allows schools and similar institutions to remotely archive and recall critical information about students, staff and facilities when regular means of access to this information may be compromised by extreme weather, armed intruders or worse. Data may be saved to CD-ROM, web site, or appropriate removable media for distribution to approprite agencies in case of disaster, terrorist attack, armed intruder, missing students on field trips and others. Much more than just another database, this is software no school should be without! The peace of mind is worth more than the price!
SafetyWorks: Critical Emergency KnowledgeBase© is a program designed to assist schools and similar agencies in the event of an unforeseen critical emergency. In these uncertain times there are many occurrences that may prevent school personnel from accessing regular school demographic databases. Such common events as minor power outages resulting from thunderstorms can compromise access to critical information. In a world where "if anything can go wrong, it will go wrong" seems to be all too common, critical information might not be available just when it is needed most. SafetyWorks fills the void!
In more upsetting situations, tornadoes, fires, mudslides, flash floods, terrorists, biological/chemical accidents and worse might threaten your students and render normal access to their demographic information impossible. How would someone use a school's SIMS data if the electricity was out? With the SafetyWorks tool and a battery operated laptop, these fears can be lessened. |
Geared towards the upper elementary and middle school grades, SkyWorks has already been recognized as an outstanding program that fills an important niche in the area of earth science. Highly interactive, the program includes animations, sounds, graphics and easily understood text related to many weather events. Included on the educational version are numerous activities that take students outside to observe the sky in all its glory. Heightened awareness of the role our atmosphere plays in our daily lives is stressed. Students are able to keep a daily sky journal of observations and produce “slide shows” of cloud types that they observe. Already an award winner in its class! |
