Microsoft Select Benefits
The Select License program is available only from LARs. However, the two-tier or direct model is available in some countries. If you’re not a LAR, consider partnering with one. The Select License program can be a significant revenue opportunity to:
Become a trusted advisor. Help your customers extend their software procurement budgets—and direct more of those funds to your services and deployment opportunities.
Cross-sell Software Assurance. Include Software Assurance as an indispensable part of the solution early in the sales cycle to strengthen your solution proposal and drive additional revenue.
Establish your company as the order source. The Select License program allows additional orders at the same price level under the initial authorization number, which becomes the source for all additional license acquisitions. Maintain this ongoing revenue source by making sure your customers understand the ease of the procurement process and transaction tracking using a single Select License program authorization number.
Build and retain strong, profitable customer relationships. Microsoft three-year license agreements for the Select License program offer you the opportunity to provide additional services that can strengthen your customer relationships and increase your revenue.
Simplify software asset management for you and your customers. The Microsoft Volume Licensing Service Center (VLSC) provides an electronic record of your customers’ Microsoft software transactions that cannot be lost or misplaced. The VLSC allows customers to view each Select License program transaction within an authorization number, including licensee data, transaction/return details, Select License program authorization numbers, volume license keys, access to Software Assurance benefits, and other Select License program information. Your customers may designate you to view and manage their licensing information on the VLSC.
Provide simpler deployment, upgrading, and patching with volume license keys. Deployment, upgrading, and patching software can be easier with the use of volume license keys rather than full-packaged product media, which requires a product ID code for each license. Volume license keys allow you to perform multiple installations without having to enter a unique product ID code each time, saving you time and facilitating centralized deployment with disk imaging and software distribution.
