Student Option

With School Agreement, you can provide your students with the software they need. Through the Student Option, you may license your students for use of one or more of the available School Agreement application, system, or Client Access License (CAL) products on a personally-owned computer or a school-owned computer designated for a student's exclusive use (that is, a computer checked out to a student for the school year). The products selected do not have to match products selected for your institution computers. When selecting the Student Option, you choose a specific number of students to license. This number cannot be changed over the course of the licensed period.

Minimum order requirement for Student Option

If your school includes the Student Option, your student count and the respective product selection for those students must meet a minimum requirement of 300 units. You cannot combine your faculty and staff and/or server acquistions with your student acquisitions to meet the 300 unit minimum. Both minimums must be met individually. You calculate your total units for students by multiplying the number of students by the number of products selected.

For example, a school that enrolls 100 students in the Student Option for three products meets the minimum requirement of 300 units (100 students x 3 products = 300 units). Likewise, another school that enrolls 300 students in the Student Option could meet the minimum requirement by selecting just one product (300 students x 1 product = 300 units).

Student use rights

Students are only licensed to use the software for the licensed period. These licenses are non-perpetual (temporary). Upon leaving the institution or expiration of the licensed period, students are required to remove the software. Your institution is responsible for communicating the appropriate use rights to students when distributing the software. Guidelines for communicating this information to facilitate compliance are outlined in the Campus and School Agreement terms and conditions. Provided that your institution follows these guidelines, you will not be held responsible for students' failure to remove the software.
