What is the Adobe Creative Suite 4 K–12 School Site License?
Adobe is offering all of its new Creative Suite 4 editions — including Design Premium, Design Standard, Web Premium, Web Standard, Production Premium, and Master Collection — through the K–12 School Site License program. The K–12 School Site License allows a school to install a Creative Suite edition on up to 500 school-owned or school-leased computers regardless of school enrollment size. School Site Licenses also come with DVDs that contain a ready-to-use curriculum, Digital Careers Teaching Resources, video tutorials, and other materials that help educators implement career and technical education programs for design, web, video, interactive, and mobile projects.
Who is eligible to purchase a K–12 School Site License?
K–12 School Site Licenses are available to qualifying accredited K–12 public and nonpublic schools only, located at a single address.
Can my district purchase a K–12 School Site License and distribute licenses to multiple schools?
No, a district must purchase a K–12 School Site License for each school that will be using the software. K–12 School Site Licenses cannot be broken up and distributed among multiple schools or school locations. For example, if a district wants to purchase Adobe Creative Suite 4 K–12 School Site Licenses for five different schools within the district, that district must purchase five separate site licenses. The district or schools also have the option to purchase individual volume licenses through TLP or CLP from an Adobe Authorized Education Reseller.
Can I share licenses with my district office?
District offices cannot install software from a K–12 School Site License but must purchase volume licenses through TLP or CLP, as they do not qualify as an accredited K–12 public or nonpublic school.
Can I duplicate and distribute the curriculum DVD?
A school is welcome to duplicate and distribute the curriculum resources from the Adobe Digital Careers Teaching Resources DVD among educators within that school.
Can I duplicate and distribute the training DVD?
Duplication and distribution of the training DVD is not allowed. If you would like to use Adobe's video tutorials on your website or in other materials, find out more about Adobe's permissions and trademark guidelines.
How do I purchase a K–12 School Site License?

What is included with each K–12 School Site License?
Deliverables include software licenses for the respective Creative Suite 4 edition. When purchasing a K–12 School Site License, you will also need to purchase one media kit with your license. The media kit includes a K–12 Site End-User License Agreement (EULA), the Adobe Digital Careers Teaching Resources DVD, and video tutorials.
Can I purchase additional media kits?
Yes, you can contact your Adobe Authorized Education Reseller for availability of additional media kits. Additional kits come with the Adobe Digital Careers Teaching Resources DVD and video tutorials only.
Can I purchase a single K–12 School Site License through the online Adobe Store?
No, K–12 School Site Licenses are available only through Adobe Volume Licensing and must be purchased through an Adobe Authorized Education Reseller.
Can a higher education institution (college or university) purchase a School Site License?
No, K–12 School Site Licenses are available only to K–12 schools and districts purchasing on behalf of schools.
Do K–12 School Site Licenses qualify for points under AVL?
Yes, K–12 School Site Licenses qualify for points under the AVL program.
Can Adobe Creative Suite 4 editions be broken up and individual components installed on multiple computers?
No, a K–12 School Site License for a suite edition can be installed only on a total of 250 or 500 machines, depending on the license purchased. For example, it would not be permissible to install one Creative Suite component on 500 machines and another component on 500 different computers. It is permissible to install a subset of components on any of the machines covered by the license.
Do K–12 School Site Licenses allow teacher home use?
Yes, each K–12 School Site License comes with an additional 50 teacher home-use rights licenses. Software used at home by teachers must be used exclusively for teaching purposes related to the teachers' employment with the school (such as lesson planning, classroom preparation, and so on).
Can I install K–12 School Site License software on student computers not owned by the school?
No, K–12 School Site License software can be installed only on school-owned or school-leased computers. Students can purchase education versions of CS4 through an Adobe Authorized Education Reseller.
